This week the NRA Ready for Retail Program has reached our 51st job outcome for our program, which is funded through the Queensland Government Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) Program.

Danielle Owen trained in our course in Chermside and undertook her work experience at the Chemist Warehouse in Ashgrove.  She did a great job, with customers actually ringing the shop to say how wonderful Danielle’s customer service was.  Danielle has now been offered paid work at the store.

And as of July 1, the Queensland Government has raised the employer incentive to $10 000 for the SQW Program.  That means that if Danielle’s employer wishes to employ her through a permanent or part-time traineeship, they will receive $10 000 towards her wages, as well the Commonwealth incentive of $4 000. This is fantastic opportunity for employers, especially if you are thinking of hiring for Christmas.

Another great success story comes from our Cairns course that is delivered in partnership with MiHaven.  In this clip, Pellista Lammon shares her story of how this program changed her life after 10 years of being unemployed.

The NRA is delivering our Ready for Retail course in locations throughout Queensland, so if you would like to meet one of our trained participants, please contact NRA Work Placement Officer, Debbie Dillon on
