The National Retail Association is pleased to welcome Minderoo Foundation’s Sarah McEvoy as a Sustainability Consultant.
Sarah will support industry by making regular contributions to our member communications on the latest research and policy developments across sustainability, plastic pollution and impacts on human health.
Sarah McEvoy joined Minderoo Foundation in April 2023 after almost fifteen years of senior leadership roles in the Western Australian Government. Her most recent role was as the Executive Director for Strategic Policy at the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation held since 2014. Her responsibilities included delivering services to the Waste Authority and to the Keep Australia Beautiful Council for waste and litter policy and programs, and leadership of WA’s climate change response. Sarah’s achievements include instructing on and introducing major amendments to the Environmental Protection Act, the introduction of the container deposit scheme in Western Australia, and two phases of bans on single use plastics.
Sarah’s role at Minderoo Foundation includes establishing a program in Australia to advocate for policies to reduce plastic pollution to zero through a comprehensive life cycle approach.
