The National Retail Association is hosting a free online session for small businesses and loss prevention specialists.

Attendees will get a break down of the latest criminology research, the state of retail crime across small businesses, and forecasted retail crime trends.

The event will showcase a deep dive into the recent 2022 Australia and New Zealand Retail Crime Study. The study covers 8,900 stores, representing a third of the industry, detailing COVID’s impact, theft types, and crime prevention strategies.

Key findings include:

  • An average 0.88% sector loss ($4.3 billion) from July 2021 to June 2022.
  • Customer theft (53%), employee theft (24%), and various frauds dominate losses.
  • Violence against staff surged in some sectors.
  • Police support increased to 51%, up from 20% in 2019.

There will also be an opportunity for attendees to ask our guest speakers questions. We encourage attendees to submit questions ahead of time.
