The Australian Government is working with Industry to help brands transition to the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL).

The ARL is an evidence-based labelling system that is designed to reduce confusion on what is and isn’t recyclable in 80% of households with clear and accurate on-pack instructions. It is also designed to prevent unsubstantiated claims, contamination of recycling systems, and ultimately increased recovery of valuable resources.

The National Retail Association and Australian Institute of Packaging are holding industry roundtables to seek your input and experience regarding the ARL and moving towards more sustainable packaging. This discussion aims to identify any challenges, benefits, and your ideas for potential solutions.

The National Retail Association are also able to assist individual businesses with their enquiries. You are most welcome to reach out at sustainability@nationalretail.org.au and a member of our team will contact you directly.
