Seamless, the National Product Stewardship Scheme, has a primary goal of revolutionising the clothing industry in Australia, encompassing the entire process from production to usage and recycling, with the aim of achieving clothing circularity by 2030.

On 20 July 2023, the inaugural meeting of the Seamless Transition Advisory Group (TAG) took place, subsequent to the introduction of the Seamless scheme’s blueprint by the Australian Fashion Council and The Hon. Tanya Plibersek MP, Minister for the Environment and Water, on 7 June 2023. The Minister unequivocally conveyed a message to the industry, setting a 12-month deadline for substantial support and active participation in Seamless; otherwise, the Australian Government will resort to regulatory measures.
